the best museum for children

The GeoFort in Herwijnen (Netherlands) yesterday won the Children in Museums Award 2016! This international prize is annually awarded to a (children's) museum that excels in creativity and innovation with regard to children in museums.

“The jury remarked: "GeoFort is a genuinely unique and innovative experience."”

GeoFort is all about cartography and navigation. The museum is located in one of the magnificent forts marking an ancient line of defence called the "Nieuwe Hollandse waterlinie". The prize consists of a cash award and a floating trophy (a miniature replica of the bronze Miffy statue in Utrecht).
